RUFbus Semmering-Rax

Stress-free travel for hotel and accommodation guests to and from train stations, accommodation, hiking trails, cultural events, and other tourist destinations.

Take a trip into nature of the Semmering-Rax region in car-free comfort. No traffic jams, no searching for a car park– the holiday starts here on arrival. The RUFbus and our Kultur Shuttle serves as a tourist mobility solution in the Semmering-Rax region. Our share-taxis can be booked in advance to bring you to your destination and helps you enjoy a car-free holiday.

The RUFbus Semmering-Rax is available for all guests in the region to travel with us between any of the over 120 stops in and around the towns Reichenau/Rax, Payerbach, Gloggnitz, Schottwien, Semmering and Breitenstein. Perfect for the beginning or end of hiking paths, to train stations, cultural events, daily errands, and your accommodation. A map including all stops can be found here. Trips can be booked between 9:00 – 18:00 in June and between 8:30 – 19:30 in July and August. For cultural events we can recommend our Kultur Shuttle service, which brings guests to and from the event from participating hotels; please ask your hotel reception for details.

How can I book a trip?

Bookings must be made in advance. The earlier you book the more likely we will be able to pick you up at the desired time. Bookings can be made via:

For short trips under 10 km, please book at least 1 h in advance; for longer trips over 10 km, you must book at least 24 h in advance. Please note that pick-up times are understood as a timeframe of 10–20 minutes.

In order to minimise our environmental impact in the region, when convenient we bundle trips together; we are thankful for your understanding! We also note that booking times and service availability are dependent on demand and road conditions; we cannot guarantee bookings in times of high demand.

How much is a ticket?

The RUFbus is free for hotel and accommodation guests with the MobilityCard⁺ (MobilitätsCard⁺). You can use this card for the duration of your stay (max. 3 trips per day). You will receive this card when you check into your accommodation; please show it to the driver.
